Hockey Team recognized at the
State Capitol

LANSING, MI - State Rep. Hugh Crawford on Thursday recognized the
Novi Wildcat Varsity Hockey team in a special ceremony on the floor
of the Michigan House of Representatives.
The Wildcats recently took the title
of 2010-2011 Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1
Champions in a shut-out victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary.
"This team has tremendous talent,"
said Crawford, R-Novi, "They fought through a lot of tough
competitors to rise to the top and become Division 1 State
Champions. We are so proud of their accomplishments and have enjoyed
the excitement they have brought to the City of Novi."
Also honored by Crawford was MHSAA
Hockey Coach of the Year, Todd Krygier. Krygier, a Novi native, is a
retired professional hockey player with nine seasons of NHL hockey
and experience on three USA national teams. He has coached youth
hockey in Novi the past five years.
Crawford presented Coach Krygier with
a tribute announcing the accomplishments he has attained while
working with the high school student athletes.
"We are fortunate to have a fine and
talented coach," Crawford said. "Todd Krygier was voted by his peers
as Coach of the Year, that speaks for itself for what a truly fine
coach he is." |
