Novi Wildcat Hockey starts season with two shut-outs
November 22, 2010

At the Novi Ice Arena Friday and Saturday, the Wildcats started of their 2010-2011 season with two strong wins in the Metro Invite.

Friday, the 'Cats defeated Rochester United 8-0. Jon Mencer started things off with a nice goal, and assists from Jacob Mastropaolo and Nolan Valleau. Also scoring in the first period was Brock Krygier, Zach Mohr and Dylan Shepard.

In the second period, Jon Mencer and Kent Burnett added goals, and in the third Joey Ferriss and Valleau sealed the victory.

Rochester managed just 8 shots to Novi's 52. Senior Co-Captain Mike Pesendorfer was in net and earned the shut-out.

In the second game on Saturday, the 'Cats shut down the Clarkson Wolves 2-0.
