Wildcat Hockey defeats Baseline rival Northville Mustangs 7-1
11/27/09

In what is always one of the most anticipated, well attended, and fun hockey games of the season, the Wildcats soundly defeated Baseline rival Northville Friday evening 7-1 at the Novi Ice Arena.

Nolan Valleau started things off with a goal just seconds into the game, and Brandon Juodikis scored two minutes later for the 'Cats. Tyler Perpich also scored in the first.

In the second period, Matt Stemkoski and Perpich scored.

In the third, it was Perpich again, followed by goals from Matt Stemkoski and Evan Dixon. Northville managed their lone goal in the third to make it a 7-1 victory for the Wildcats.

Michael Pesendorfer was rock-solid in net, stopping 15 shots on goal as Novi's defense made it nearly impossible for Northville to get scoring opportunities. Joey Ferriss and Perpich lead the team for the evening with 4 points each, and Matt Stemkowski with 3 points. Novi out-shot Northville 40-15.

Novi is now 6-0-0 for the season, tied for the strongest start in the program's history. The last time the team was 6-0-0 was nine years ago.
