The Wildcats started things off Wednesday evening at the Novi Ice Arena on an Evan Dixon goal two minutes into the game. Canton scored six minutes later, ending the first period in a 1-1 tie. From there, it was all Novi's game.

In the second period, 5 goals by 5 different Wildcats pulled Novi ahead. Scoring for Novi was Alex Cova, Matt Stemkoski, Brandon Juodikis, Tyler Manning and another by Dixon. Canton managed to get two past Mike Pesendorfer to make it 6-3 after two periods.

Novi's Taylor Howell and Andrew Cmoluch scored in the third, and Canton notched two goals, to make it an 8-5 hockey game.

The Wildcats take on the Farmington Falcons Saturday, 7:00 p.m. at the Farmington Ice Arena (8 Mile Road).
