March 26, 2012 "It's
not what happens to you, but Last Wednesday, the 21st of March, the Novi Wildcats Varsity Lacrosse team took on Flint Powers High School for the 'Cats season opener. At the end of a hard fought battle, the final result was a 7-6 loss for Novi. After being beaten, especially in the very beginning of one's season, it's easy for a team to assume they are nothing special, call it quits, and give up on a successful season. All too many teams have beaten themselves by doing this. Fortunately, the young men on Novi's varsity squad have a different mentality. They know their season has just begun and they know what they are capable of. With that in mind, the 'Cats felt much more prepared going into their second game against Walled Lake Central which took place last Friday at Central's home field. So, partly In response to their previous loss and partly in attempts to prove to their fans that they are not a team to be taken lightly, the 'Cats absolutely dominated Central from start to finish. When time finally ran out, the scoreboard read "Home: 6, Guest: 23." I think this astonishing performance provided an accurate preview as to what the rest of Novi's Varsity Lacrosse season will look like. You can see for yourself when Novi faces Hartland in their next game on Monday the 26th at 6:30 p.m. at Novi. (c) 2012 Novi
