Novi Varsity Hockey
reinvents themselves
to succeed

February 20, 2012

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."
   - Henry Ford

At the beginning of the Novi Wildcat's current Varsity Hockey season, what the team consisted of was a group of young men with enough talent and athleticism that, if guided correctly, had the potential to repeat the same impressive feat they achieved last year; win states.

Though, they did not appear to have made use of their abilities until a great deal of self-reflection took place in regards to the lackluster performances given on the annual U.P. trip. It was after this voyage when the 'Cats truly came together and reinvented themselves; a new beginning. The 'Cats drastically altered not only the way they played the game, but also the way they thought of it.

Through this newly designed outlook on the sport, the 'Cats found their own method of perseverance. The young men on the varsity squad lifted one another up, dusted themselves off, and got back to work. At that point, the 'Cats knew what they had to do, and acted on it. This allowed the boys to win their next 10 games in a row, which brings us to where the team is now; progress.

With the regular season behind them, the 'Cats are currently approaching the the final stages; playoffs. According to Henry Ford, if Novi continues to do what they have recently been doing so well, (working together) then they will once again achieve greatness and success. Though, speaking from a realist's viewpoint, reaching such a high level of success is much easier said than done. On the other hand, within that same realist's mind resides the fact that no matter how strenuous or difficult the task may be, it is still possible; potential success.

Novi's first round of playoffs against the South Lyon Lions will take place on February 27th at 4:30 p.m. at Compuware.
