October 23, 2011 "The end is the beginning of all things, suppressed and hidden, awaiting to be released through the rhythm of pain and pleasure." - Jiddu Krishnamurti The end has unfortunately come for two Novi varsity sports, football and soccer. Though, the football team's season was not as successful as they would have hoped, they ended on a good note defeating Saline, 42-21 with a season record of 4-5. As for soccer, the 'Cats had an outstanding season with a record of 19-4. After making it all the way to district finals the 'Cats were taken down in overtime against Canton, losing 3-1. Yes, this year's season has ended for football and soccer. No, this is not the end. For the seniors on those teams, the beginning of an entirely new journey is right in front of them. Graduation is just around the corner and the step from high school to college will be made along with an entirely new set memories. Just as a new step was made and an entirely new set of memories along with it when those seniors made their transition from middle school to high school. Life has a way of repeating itself. The joy in it resides in the fact that in each proceeding step there will always be different and new variations of experiences to perceive. We seniors that are now moving on were once in the shoes of those juniors who will remain in Novi for another year. We sat in the same seats at the season's final banquet and felt the same feelings when we realized how bad we didn't want it all to end. Though, another opportunity is given to them the same way it was to us. Hopefully, the remaining juniors, soon to be seniors, take advantage of that opportunity and exceed their predecessors. Hopefully, they achieve what we, seniors did not. Hopefully, their new beginning results in a more applaudable end and they will be able to look back upon memories that we seniors are not capable of. I truly wish to those who will remain the best of luck in reaching the goals that were not met this year. I wish for those that will remain a better end to their new beginning. (c) 2011 Novi
