The Novi Wildcats Varsity Football team are well on their way to a successful season. Last Saturday, the varsity squad was split up into two teams, the Green and the White. This annual event is set up so coaches and fans in the community can get a good look at players demonstrating their skills and grasp a better understanding of each player's abilities. This year's Green vs. White scrimmage went well and all players walked off the field unharmed. The risk of injury in the scrimmage leaves some individuals skeptical as to whether or not the scrimmage is truly necessary. It's been proven in the past that this event can leave many players left with season ending injuries so it's only fair that many are left with uneasy thoughts on the subject. One mustn't dwell on the past too much though. The scrimmage proved it can be beneficial by ending successfully with out any injuries. Coaches acquired film of the event in hopes of looking it over and fine tuning any of the player's mistakes. Time for some homework. Moving on from the scrimmage, the 'Cats next battle is coming soon, this Thursday to be exact. They will be facing Martin Luther King, Detroit Cody, and Pontiac which was just recently integrated back into one high school. From what I've heard these teams are no pushovers which means the 'Cats will be encountering true opponents. From the skill displayed in the Green vs. White scrimmage, I do not think the 'Cats will have much trouble coming together as a team and taking down the opposition this upcoming Thursday.
