March 20, 2011 The seasons are changing. The sports are changing. Spring sports are in full swing and I think we're all excited to see the season unravel. One of my personal favorite sports to watch and follow is lacrosse, and through the grapevine I heard Wildcat Varsity Lacrosse is supposed to have a "powerhouse offense" this season. The Lax ' Cats have approximately 16 returning juniors and seniors for the varsity squad. According to Adam Haynes, a junior on the team who made the cut as a freshmen, "The chemistry between the juniors and seniors is strong. This should help us bring in a lot of wins." Hearing this got me thinking about their performances in the regional finals the last few years. For some reason they just haven't been able to capitalize on many opportunities and advance their season. When speaking with Haynes he remarked that "If we have a chance of making it past regional finals, this is our year." I'm looking forward to watching this years varsity squad progress through their season. I'll be at the majority of the games rooting them on. The 'Cats first game is away this Friday at Grand Blanc. They hope to have many fans supporting them for their season opener. (c) 2011 Novi
