Novi Varsity Volleyball should be very proud

November 14, 2010

The Novi Wildcats Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Hartland high school to participate in the regional finals against the Mercy Marlins of Farmington Hills this week.

In a game between two very skilled teams such as these, the environment tends to get fairly chaotic. Fans from each side of the net let it all out and cheered on their teams the whole night in attempt to give the players even more of a reason to win.

After five hard fought, close matches with scores of: 17-25(Novi), 25-17(Mercy), 22-25(Novi), 25-23(Mercy), and 17-15(Mercy), the Mercy Marlins prevailed with a 3-2 win against the Novi Wildcats.

Though they didn’t come out on top, the 'Cats still had a very impressive season with an astounding league record of 30-0 and an overall record of 43-5-1.

By watching the 'Cats on the court that night it was clear that they wanted to win and wanted it bad. With both teams very equally matched every single aspect and detail of the game came into effect of the overall outcome. It was noticeable to all that they left everything on that court and didn’t hold back.

After the game I spoke to a senior Wildcat, Savannah Green. When asked about the season as a whole she stated that “it was a really great season, we made history in Novi for going 30-0 in the KLAA and we went further than last year so I’m very proud of our season.” Green also added that she “couldn’t have asked for a better season, group of girls, fans, or coaches.”

The 'Cats should be nothing but proud of their performance this season. Congratulations on a great season girls. It will be hard to find a team as exceptional as you. The upcoming Wildcats will unquestionably have a hard time following in your footsteps.
