Wildcat J.V. Soccer's
new tactics pay off

October 3, 2010

On Tuesday the 28th of September the Novi Wildcats Boy's JV Soccer team went head to head in a battle with the Stevenson Spartans. The Wildcats already faced the Spartans previously in their season, and finished that match-up with a 1-1 tie.

After introducing a few new tactics the Wildcats felt confident and prepared that they were going to do well. The Spartans also improved from their last game with the Wildcats and stepped up their defense, which gave the Wildcats some trouble. The entire first half the Spartans presented their authority and gave the Wildcats a difficult time trying to keep control of the ball.

Team member Clay King explained, “We had trouble possessing the ball at first and had to change a few things around at half time.”

After the adjustments during the half time break, the Wildcats came back out and looked like an entirely new team. Precise passing and team work helped the Wildcats become more effective in their desire to win.

With about 10 minutes left on the clock, Novi found an opening and took the opportunity at hand. With a quick pass from Don Nakashima to Tyler Sloan, the Wildcats scored.

The clock struck zero and the Wildcats finished up with a score of 1-0 to win in their long battle with the Stevenson Spartans.
