KVC—YOU LATER

August 11, 2008

It will take a while to get used to it. The KLAA sounds a little awkward right now. Plus, with 23 teams and 4 divisions, you’ll need a scorecard to figure out the various divisions.

But with the Wildcats in the Central, there will be some interesting new rivalries, without the long drives. No more Brighton or Pinckney, but say hello to Livonia Stevenson, and of course your old friend Northville.

The Baseline Jug rivalry is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the state, and now it will take on an even greater meaning. Now when the two schools meet, in any sport, it could well be for a league title, in addition to a District Championship or of course, bragging rights.

And, the game will most likely be sooner in the season. This year it will be Oct. 10th, as opposed to prior years when it was typically the last game of the season before the playoffs.

It won’t be long now, in fact two weeks from Friday, as the Novi Wildcat football team will begin another quest for a possible league title and a trip to the State Playoffs.

And, they’ll start off against an old KVC friend and foe, the Milford Mustangs.

Some things change, but not completely…
