April 7, 2008 Its’ been awhile and it’s been a long winter, but it’s time to get back outdoors for some always exciting High School competition in the final season of the KVC as we know it. A new wrinkle this year will feature Novi’s high flying Boys Golf team competing in the spring now as well, as opposed to the fall in past years. In almost every spring sport, the Novi Wildcats will have a representative heading off to play in college next year, and their coaches always do a great job of tough scheduling non-conference opponents that help their teams get ready for league play. One of the other enjoyable aspects of spring sports is that it gives fans a chance to watch the local athletes participate in additional sports, as Novi is blessed with several multiple-sport athletes. And don’t forget Novi-Catholic Central will have a say in the matter as well. Their beautiful new facility hosted the Baseball Districts last year, and I’m hoping the Cats and Shamrocks get together on the field for some friendly competition once again. There are only about 8 weeks left on the sports calendar in Novi before another year is in the books, but if past is prologue, there could be a lifetime of memories created in that short span. And, I’m looking forward to watching and writing about them… (c) 2008 Novi
