Recently the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), in conjunction with ESPN “The magazine” chronicled many athletes nationwide for their academic and athletic achievements as they were bestowed with ESPN The Magazine “academic All-America honors”

Among them were Novi’s very own Trent Sisson, a 2004 NHS graduate who currently plays football for Carnegie-Mellon University. A linebacker with a 3.90 grade point average, he lead the team in sacks, and was tied for the lead in forced fumbles and pass breakups.

In addition, he helped his defense garner 3 shutouts this season, including a 21-0 whitewash of Millsaps college in the opening round of the Division III playoffs this season.

You probably remember Trent as a key component of Novi’s 12-1 State Semi-Final football squad back in 2003, and in the spring of 2004 he was also a prominent member of the track team as well.

His name is mentioned now with many great college football players of notoriety, including Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm.

Suffice it to say that Novi’s Trent Sisson has managed to combine athletics and academics in a great way, and has represented his school and community quite well.

He has provided an example that Novi Wildcats everywhere, can be proud of.
