They say a Team always takes on the personality of it's Field General...
or in this case, Generals...
Enter Rick Green, Mike Koceski, Scott Combs, and Paul Sabol. And you'll
see that in this case, TEAM stands for Tough, Enthusiastic, Aggressive,
and
Motivated.
Novi baseball has kicked it to a new level, and with a sparkling 15-1
record, one need only look at the coaching staff to see where the team
gets it's personality.
Green is a no-nonsense tactician, teaching fundamental baseball and
wearing opponents out with aggressive play, and a mentally tough
approach. Mike Koceski, a former Michigan State infielder has brought an
enthusiastic, upbeat approach that is very contagious.
Scott Combs, the pitching coach, not only knows the technical aspects of
pitching, but understands the art form as well. But most importantly, he
is able to communicate it, teach it, and make it resonate.
Meanwhile Paul Sabol, is the consummate baseball fan and historian. His
birds-eye approach shows his passion for the game and it rubs off on all
those around him.
Add it all up and you've got leadership, experience and management that
has resulted in 4 straight KVC titles, and a certain 5th.
Novi has it's sights set on much higher goals this season, and they most
likely have the team to get it done.
They certainly have the right attitude, and the right leadership...
