11/16/03 I scratch my head
when I think about what this team has accomplished so far. The three
home playoff wins featured teams that had a combined record of 27-3,
before the Cats sent them packing. In addition, Novi
defeated Chelsea and South Lyon at home during the regular season and
both of those teams advanced to the playoffs. There’s nothing
quite like the “Friday Night Feeling” that HS Football engenders.
Large crowds gather and the community becomes one, collectively riding
the roller coaster of emotions that athletic contests routinely serve
up. And as the season
progressed, each game became increasingly more meaningful, every play on
the field became much more significant, and our minds began to wander
and dream. On one note it’s
sad to think our seniors have played their last game in “Wildcat
Country.” We got a little spoiled this year…Eight home games!? Some
years, there have been only four. So, lets count our blessings. This senior class
will leave a legacy that will forever be remembered in the annals of
Novi Wildcat football. They’ve beaten cross-town rivals, conquered
their KVC nemesis, and they’ve played an exciting brand of football
that makes even the casual observer smile. Our sons have done us proud,
no one can deny that. The home version of
the game may be over…But, the rest of the season is still very much
alive. Let’s count our blessings… That “Friday Night Feeling” lives on.
