Road Kill
Being Served

Hall-of-Fame Pitcher Nolan Ryan once said, "The mark of a great pitcher is the ability to win even when you don’t have your best stuff that day."

Hey nobody’s perfect but let’s not split hairs. The Road Tough Novi Wildcats split town Friday night and came away with one for the ages.

Check it out....

- The Cats never led the entire game during regulation... but they led when it mattered most

- The last time Novi beat Brighton the Bulldogs had some guy named Drew Henson at quarterback.

- The Cats overcame turnovers, costly penalties and missed opportunities, but never wavered.

- Novi continued to prove they are one of the most formidable road teams in High School Football running their road record to 2-0 against two quality teams.

- After avenging last years last second loss to the Bulldogs of Chelsea 3 weeks ago, Friday night’s victory over the Brighton Bulldogs makes it a clean sweep of the Dogs for 2003... paybacks are sweet.

Whether or not Novi had their best stuff is irrelevant. What’s relevant is the mental makeup, the attitude, and the poise they showed once again, as they marched into enemy territory and despite being down 2 scores heading into the 4th quarter, they maintained their composure as they took control to capture the victory.

Championship caliber teams have an innate ability to find a way to prevail even when conditions aren’t perfect and the ball isn’t bouncing their way. They continually overcome the setbacks, mistakes, and bad breaks that can happen to any human in the heat of battle. And they find a way to prove superior even when they don’t have their best stuff that night. Some people might think that game wasn’t a pretty game for Novi.

Hey Cats for what it’s worth, your stuff is plenty good no matter what... believe it.

In fact it’s beautiful.
