So when the Bulldogs of Chelsea invaded Wildcat Country on Friday night, both units reverted to their nature pretty quickly. Before the seats were warm Novi led 21-0, and cruised to a 49-20 victory. Last season on the road at Chelsea, you may remember Novi never trailed until the last minute of the game, but this year they led convincingly for the entire 48. Hey: Paybacks are fun, paybacks are hell, and paybacks are a way of life in the world of sports. You really think it’s only a game? Yeah right, and the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona. Coincidentally the only other regular season losses last season were to the Bulldogs of Brighton, and the Lions of South Lyon, and in a few weeks the Cats will be looking to avenge that situation as well. But first it’s off to Howell to face the Highlanders. One at a time please… On a side note, big shout out to the fans of Novi Football. The stadium was packed and the partisan crowd displayed class and a passionate support of their sons, grandsons, nephews, neighbors, good buddies, old buddies, acquaintances and even the visiting transients. Detroit Free Press guru Tom Markowski was in attendance and was very laudatory of the entire scene. Granted, members of the Feline Family were never meant to be domesticated, but that doesn’t mean they still belong on the jungle…Unless of course you’re wearing Green and White and you’ve got a number on your back. Just ask the Chelsea Bulldogs. ___________________________________ |
