David Kramer -
An advocate by the
people, for the people

by Bernie Fratto

There’s an old saying that goes like this: ‘If the thing you like to do the most, is the thing you happen to do the best, then God is smiling down on you.”

Novi resident David Kramer is the personification of that axiom. In his role as an attorney he is emphatic when he says, “I genuinely want to help people.” The constellation of events, combined with his exquisite knowledge of the law, and his track record suggest that he has positively impacted a multitude of lives.

Kramer knew at a very young age, he would someday become an advocate for people. “I was 5 years old and sitting on my mother’s lap watching an episode of Perry Mason, and I asked her, what does he do?” “He helps people,” she replied.

“I never lost sight of that,” Kramer stated.

A Michigan native, Kramer graduated from North Farmington High School where he lettered in track, football and basketball. And it is clear that his athletic background paved the way for his competitive demeanor. “In the courtroom it is a lot like being on the athletic field, the battles are won long before the game actually begins.”

To that end Kramer’s credo is to prepare, prepare, prepare. It is his objective to simply outwork the other side and his performance record indicates that his preparation for battle is par excellence. David Kramer has not lost a jury trial in 10 years.

After High School he graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Political Science. He completed his Law Studies at Wayne State University in 1991, and promptly passed the Bar Examination in the spring of 1992.

Then he went to work, figuratively and literally. In his illustrious career as a Michigan based counselor, David Kramer has practiced law in 26 states and in the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. In addition, he is a member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He has also been admitted to the US Court of Appeals 6th circuit, 9th circuit, and the US District Court Eastern District.

David Kramer is forthright and charismatic, and is very good with people. As a solid negotiator and one that is highly skilled at the art of litigation, he is utterly sincere that it is all driven by the fact he truly wants to help people.

“When someone approaches me, it is because they’re in trouble and they need help.” “My job is to assess their situation and channel the proper outlets that will serve them best.”

He has an uncanny ability to put himself in other people’s shoes. “How would you feel if your rights were violated?” he asked. While that is not always the case, he knows that this is America and that every citizen deserves representation, regardless of their situation.

David Kramer is proud to be a resident of Novi, Michigan. Along with his supportive wife, he is the proud father of two daughters that are busy playing competitive soccer at a very high level. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. At the end of the day, he is also an advocate for his loving family.

When you’re great at what you do, and you love doing it, it is a blessing.

Sharing his gift with others, is what David Kramer does best.
