Ann Glubzinski

It is a probably a little known fact that growing up in Grand Blanc, Michigan Novi’s Ann Glubzinski was a very good athlete. She was a golfer, and she even earned a varsity letter in golf as a Michigan State Spartan.

After graduating from Grand Blanc High School, she majored in Political Science at MSU, earning her Bachelors Degree and graduating with honors.

She began her career at Comerica Incorporated, and spent 6 years in various management and marketing positions. Toward the end of her tenure there in 1984, she earned her MBA at MSU in Business Management, and she graduated Beta Gamma Sigma.

After working in marketing, sales administration and as an account manager for organizations like Digital Equipment Corp. and Expert Implementations, she landed at Oakland Community College in 1990, where she became part of the adjunct facility, teaching business and salesmanship.

After two years she moved over to Schoolcraft College, and as a member of the adjunct faculty, she taught business math, marketing and advertising for the next 11 years.

Her educational experiences served her well as she joined Young Life in 2000 as an Area Administrator for Metro Detroit. Her role dictates that she is responsible for database administration, monthly accounting, utilization of various computer software for business applications, and day-to-day operations of the office.

In addition to her multiple roles in responsibilities, since 1999 Ann Glubzinski has even found time to contribute her talents to the Novi Community School District as a Guest Secretary, and a Guest Teacher.

As a 22-year resident of Novi, Michigan her eclectic background and willingness to invest time and energy in worthwhile community efforts has been stellar.

As a member of the Novi Athletic Boosters, she has served as treasurer from 2001-2005. She was a participant in the PTO at Novi Middle School, Novi Meadows, and Village Oaks, serving as chairperson of various standing committees. In addition she is a member of the Novi Schools Curriculum Council as the Village Oaks Parent Representative.

Her constellation of experiences has truly made her uniquely qualified for the position she holds today as a member of the Novi School District’s Board of Education.

The time she invested in paid and volunteer positions enabled here to gain valuable experience utilizing business communication and financial administration skills. In addition, her responsibilities challenged her to apply acquired and decision making skills to solve problems and set goals.

The experiences she garnered teaching at the college level provided insight into the skills and education necessary to be successful as one matriculates beyond the High School arena. In addition it helped to polish, hone, and appreciate diverse learning styles and to make sure her teaching approach was sensitive to the fact that the material was resonating, regardless of the background of each student.

Ann Glubzinski is emphatic when stating her mission in her current role. “I will apply my education, work, and volunteer experiences in a manner that will result in quality decision making for the Novi Community School District and continue to generate an excellent learning environment for all students.”

They say people can learn a lot about someone by playing a round of golf with them. Integrity, temperament, camaraderie, effort, etc.

Observing Ann Glubzinki’s body of work in the last 25 years perhaps reveals why she was such talented golfer.

As a member of the Board of Education, clearly she’ll manager her game, hit good shots, make intelligent decisions, and continue her self-education to maximize her proficiency.

For Ann Glubzinski, that’s par for the course.
