night in the quarterfinals of the State Hockey Championships!
This is the result of a hard fought 3-1 victory over
cross-town rival Northville Friday night to clinch the
Regional Championship, played before a packed
house at the Novi Ice Arena.

Novi accepts the
regional trophy
Thanks to solid goaltending
by Northville's Josh Block, the Wildcats trailed 1-0 well into
the third period, but Brad Zarem tied the game with a
sensational goal, and Brian Jaussi followed with the
game winner as the battle-tested Wildcats continue to prove,
that even though they're only a 2nd year program, they are
making their mark in MHSAA Hockey...
A record of 19-2-6, Co-Champs in the KVC, and a ranking of 5th
in the State Division II by the Detroit News has made their
sophomore campaign memorable.
Although they have work ahead of them next week, as they head
into Lansing for their quarterfinal match up against Okemos,
there is one thing for certain....Dreams do come true...Don't
bet against the Wildcats......

started off the game two minutes in with a goal, then scored
again a minute later. Howell started the second period
with a goal, answered by goals from Ryan "The
Tank" Layton and Brian Jaussi. Scoring

game was without a doubt senior goalie Beau Brandau,
who was rock solid guarding the net, and made several
incredible saves to ensure the Wildcat's victory.
2/23/00 Brighton and Milford
fought to a 3 - 3 tie. That means, if Novi wins Friday,
there's a tie for first place in the KVC. Don't miss
Friday's game: 8pm at Novi vs. Howell.
2/23/00 Novi froze the
Lakeland Eagles 8 - 2 at Lakeland Arena. Novi dominated
all three periods. Travis Malott started off the

Brandau was solid in net, leaving little doubt why he's #1
among the fans and in the KVC. Perhaps the most
interesting part of the game, though, was Novi's bearded bus
driver leading the cheers, and drowning out Lakeland's entire
cheerleading squad!
