Scholarship Mania
March 22, 2011
Now that senior year is starting to come to a close, with only
two and half months left, its scholarship time! You may think it
sounds fun, but it’s really not.
There are so many scholarships out there, ones you can find on
line from simple searches, ones that get emailed to you from
counselors, and the most recent for Novi High Schoolers… the annual
local scholarships. There are over 60 scholarships that are offered
to Novi Seniors every year. Each student is allowed to apply for as
many as they are eligible for.
With all of these scholarships though, are applications. It’s not
an easy write your name on a sheet of paper thing. It’s a three page
long common application for every single scholarship you plan on
applying for. It’s crazy! Then there are some that require extra
stuff, like copies of acceptance letters and essays. There is so
much to do, and so little time left to get it done.
The deadline for these scholarships is March 25th; that’s this
Friday! Oh, and they have to be handed into to the counseling office
by 2:00pm that day, or they won’t be accepted.
If you haven’t started filling them out, you better get started
because it takes a lot of time to fill out those common apps. If you
don’t know where to find them, just go to the high school
homepage and scroll down until you
see the headline that reads “2011 Novi High School Local Scholarship
Packet Now Available!” There you will find a link that takes you to
another page with more links to all the scholarship descriptions and
applications.
In other news, only two weeks left until spring break! But with
spring break comes craziness, so just a warning, be careful, be
smart, and be safe. It’s what my dad always tells me before I go
out.
Seriously though, when you are going out of state, or even out of
the country, it’s important to always be with someone else you know,
never alone. It’s the best way to not get lost where ever you are,
and especially like on a cruise, there are so many other people that
you don’t know, be careful.
It’s the end of the end, don’t mess it up by making a bad
decision.
