Inside
Novi High

The Beginning of the Start,
The Beginning of the End

August 31, 2010

Either way you look at it this school year will either be the start of your high school career, or the end. For me, it’s the end.

Going to registration last week brought back memories of freshmen year, when I had to get my locker combination changed three times before it finally worked. Then going to school on the first day and being late to first block because I got lost.

Over the last three years of being a student at Novi High School I have learned a lot, not just from my teachers during class, but about myself. And I want everyone else who is behind me to have the same experience that I got going to Novi High School.

Whether you like theater, sports, photography, science, writing, or math, there is always something for you to get involved in at Novi High. So now is your chance, with all of the changes that are already taking place at Novi, like the new six hour schedule, Ms. Diglio as our principal, Mr. LaClear as our new assistant principal, and Officer Stempien as our new Resource Officer.

Change is something that we are all going to need to embrace this year, so why not take a chance and take a class that you think sounds cool, or join a club just for fun. Make new friends, meet new people, you never know what could happen.

I waited until my sophomore year to take this chance with broadcasting, and taking this class has literally changed my life. Before taking this class I wanted to become a teacher, but when I took Broadcasting I found out that I am really good at writing, and that I have a passion for communicating stories and issues to the school through videos and through writing.

Taking that class has opened up so many opportunities for me, like writing this article, and getting super involved in the TV News and TV Production classes, also with Journalism Newspaper, and theater. Taking one class for no reason at all other than it sounds like it could be fun, changed me, and who I want to be.

I hope that after you read this article, whether you are incoming freshmen, a sophomore, a junior, a senior, or even a recently graduated senior that you will take the chance this year and take a class just because, you never know what it can do for you.
